What it is: Liu Yuning's hometown — a border city in Liaoning province, on the Yalu River directly across from Sinuiju, North Korea, and one of China's best-known strawberry-growing regions.
How to get there: high-speed rail from Shenyang (~1.5–2 hrs) or Dalian; Dandong Langtou Airport has limited domestic flights.
What to do: the Yalu River Broken Bridge, a Yalu River boat tour, Dandong Old Street, and — in season — strawberry picking at a local farm.
Hengdian 101 · 横店
What it is: not his hometown — "China's Hollywood," the largest film/TV studio backlot in the world, in Zhejiang. Many of his dramas were filmed here.
How to get there: high-speed rail to Yiwu, then a ~40 min bus or car to Hengdian.
What to do: themed backlot zones (a replica Forbidden City/Qing Palace, a Song-dynasty street, a colonial-era "Guangzhou Street") — check which set a given drama actually used before visiting.
